The Volunteer team at Qube encouraged local people in Oswestry and Wem to get involved with the national volunteer campaign, Make A Difference Day.
The national event was organised through Community Service Volunteers (CSV) the UK’s leading volunteer and training charity. Make A Difference Day provides the opportunity for thousands of people to try out volunteering and the aim of this year’s event was to combat loneliness and isolation in the community.
Local people of Oswestry and Wem kindly donated an item of their shopping at stalls held during the week leading up to Make A Difference Day on the 29th October 2011.
Two supermarkets, Sainsburys in Oswestry and The Co-operative in Wem supported our campaign by allowing Qube to hold a display and collect shopping items to distribute to the local charities of Age UK and Home Start North Shropshire.
