These paper poppies are very quick and easy to make and require very few materials. Make them in any colour or style you like!

Materials:

Downloadable template
Coloured card or paper
Floral wire
Scissors
Hot glue gun (other strong glue can be used)

Instructions:

Step one: Print off this free downloadable template (click to enlarge) and cut out each piece.

Step two: Draw around the pieces onto coloured paper or card. The two larger pieces will be the petals. You will need two of these for each poppy. If you are making a classic red poppy these two pieces will need to be traced onto red paper. The third round piece will be the center and should be traced onto black paper. Tip: If you do not have coloured paper or card at home you can always colour in the template.

Step three: Cut short slits around the edge of the flower center inwards towards the middle, careful not to cut all the way through.

Step four: Sandwich one end of the floral wire between two petals laid perpendicular to each other with a dab of hot glue to hold.

Step five: Glue the center piece to the middle of the flower with a dab of hot glue.

Step six: Add a bit of dimension to the poppy be carefully bending the edges of the petals and center slightly inwards.

Your poppy is complete!
