Are you aged 16-25? Interested in telling or writing stories? Would you like to learn to write a short play? Pentabus is looking for 8-10 Young Writers to join us for our FREE 7-month course.
What to expect:
Through a series of monthly sessions you will will work with professional writers and directors to explore the principles of writing for the stage. How to create tension, how to construct characters, how to take your writing on a journey, towards an action. How to begin and end a play. You will decide what you would like to write about and begin to work through draft stages and examine text with professional support and feedback.
You will also have an opportunity to learn about the creative tools for production. How best to incorporate design, sound, lighting, music and stage directions. For two sessions you will work with professional actors who will read your work in progress and give feedback. You will be supported through each stage to write a short play which Pentabus will professionally produce as part of our annual Young Writers festival.
