A Volunteer Story: Catherine Bourne

It was the thought of being useful and helping the community that really encouraged me to look into a volunteering role. I heard about the volunteering opportunities at Qube through a friend so explored my options and here I am today as a Social Group Helper.

I’ve been volunteering for Qube for about four years now and I genuinely feel as though I get as much out of the social group sessions as the participants do – I really do get a lot of pleasure from supporting the group! I absolutely love the fact that I get to meet new people, have a good old chat and a brew but even more so, I can offer a helping hand as and when required. This could be anything from assisting the group members with writing or helping them to get involved in the activities.
