Art History (Tuesday Afternoons)

Art Historian, Sarah Gathercole has created another fascinating and inspiring programme of art history talks, providing illuminating insights into key periods and figures in art from early times up to the modern day.

The sessions will take place every Tuesday afternoon, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. Dates are as follows:

week 1    14th January – Introduction to Art History (100BCE – 1971)
week 2    21st January – Botticelli (1445 -1510)
week 3    28th January – Rembrandt (1606 – 1669)
week 4    4th February – Seductive Visions – France
week 5    11th February – Manet (1831-1883)

half term 17th – 21st February

week 6    25th February – French Sculpture (Francois Rude – Rodin)
week 7    4th March – Victorian Gothic, Fairy Paintings and Spiritualism
week 8   11th March – Russia (Empire to Soviet Union 1917-1935)

No previous knowledge is required. All lectures are fully illustrated. Refreshments will be provided.
