Join Sarah Gathercole as she gives a fascinating and insightful talk into the life and work of Claude Cahun in this one-off evening talk.
In the turmoil of the 1920’s and 30’s, Claude Cahun challenged gender stereotypes with her powerful photographs, photomontages and writings. Her artful resistance tactics during the Second World War mocked and disrupted the Nazi occupiers of the Isle of Jersey, where she lived and worked collaboratively with her partner, Marcel Moore. Together they created some of the most compelling photographs and photomontages of the period.
