Introduction to Watercolour

Six week course starting Monday 1st November, 3-5pm

£72 for 6 weeks

Discover the materials and techniques of watercolour as well as learning about how to combine them with gouache and acrylic paint. Learn the basics of mixing colour and tone and have fun with the possibilities of painting. Working from sketches, photos and observation you will learn how to be able to respond to different subjects such as portrait, landscape, still-life and interiors.

Your learning will be supported by clear step-by-step instructions as well as guiding you to confidently explore more spontaneous, expressive and inventive approaches to painting. Each session is carefully structured to give you a chance to work at your own pace and respond in your own way. You will also be introduced to key artworks from around the world. By the end of the course you will have the knowledge to choose the brushes, paper and paints that are suitable for a particular project and the skills to create your own art works.
