27 Jun Diane Monether
While our social groups were temporarily suspended due to Covid-19, we’ve invited some of the scheduled guest speakers to tell us a bit about themselves and the incredible work they do…
My name is Diane Monether and I grew up in the county and consider myself to be a real ‘Shropshire Lass’
I have worked for Shropshire Wildlife Trust for 12 years, I am the Volunteer Co-ordinator on the Feed the Birds Project.
I have visited Qube on a few occasions and have enjoyed meeting the members of the Social Groups
We had a session making Bird Feeders and talking about the fabulous Feed the Birds Project .
I look forward to speaking at the group in the future and hearing about all the bird feeder and table visitors…
At the moment we have a revised service:
We are now able to offer free bird feeder starter kits for anyone who would like one. They are available to anyone experiencing difficulties due to social isolation or loneliness caused by the Covid 19 crisis. Anyone can apply for one and we offer either a hanging bird feeder for the garden and a starter bag of food, or a lovely little window mounted one which stick on to a window plus a bag of food. People can apply via Bella Doolan at the Qube or direct to dianem@shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk
If you struggle to fill up your feeder or don’t have anyone to help you, we can also look for a volunteer to visit you once a week to do it for you. We’ll be following all the national guidance on safety regarding the Coronavirus so volunteers will need to be able to access the feeder via your garden.
Shropshire Wildlife Trust are looking for new volunteers to start with their Feed the Birds project from August. If you would like to get involved contact Diane for more information.
