Role Description;

  • Support service users of wide ranging abilities in creative craft activities such as painting, collage, sewing, weaving, knitting, model/card making etc. Encourage creativity, offer guidance, and ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and tidy craft materials.
  • Offer assistance to service users taking part in activities.
  • Engage with service users in a friendly, positive and inclusive way.
  • Promote independence whilst offering support and guidance.
  • Clean and pack away resources at the end of each session.

Location; Arts 7 Crafts Room/Workshops.

What skills do I need?

Skills/Qualities Required:

  • Friendly, approachable and a team player.
  • Enjoy wide ranging arts and crafts and be competent to a good standard. 
  • Patient, encouraging and supportive.
  • Able to follow basic safety and hygiene protocols.
  • DBS checks will be completed upon successful application. 

We work with adults from the age of 18 struggling with a wide variety of challenges. These can include mental health issues, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, Dementia, PTSD, Autism, ADHD etc. We also work with school students from the age of 11 who are struggling in main stream education.

Hours: Either 10.00am - 12.30pm, 12.30pm-3.00pm or 10.00am-3.00pm. Our volunteering requirements will be on-going over the next 5 years and beyond.
