Opportunity

For people recovering from illness, or who are facing a recent diagnosis, being able to stay in their own home can make all the difference.

Our Support at Home Volunteers help with shopping, getting to appointments or checking in with a phone call. Spread the power of kindness with us and help make a difficult and distressing time a little bit easier.

This service operates in Shrewsbury.

To be part of the team we need volunteers who can:

  • Volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, with occasional weekend appointments.
  • Driving is not essential. However, if you are driving for this role you should have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK and have access to a vehicle.
  • Are available to undertake the required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions within the first few months of volunteering (as detailed in the Learning Pathway attached) plus other specific training as required.
  • Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
