Working digitally has been an amazing new journey.I paint digital pleinair and the tablet being backlit helps a great deal given I’m sight impaired. Also having colours and brushes you can click on instead of struggling to see the colours of tubes of paint and pencils.
The piece was painted from our van while parked in a supermarket carpark.  I’d been shopping with my partner after he’d finished work, so it was night time. I’d already been into two supermarkets and a third one was too much.
Its especially difficult to shop being sight impaired as I need to watch out for other shoppers who are faster than me and some that are impatient too.
And not everyone knows what a long white cane represents,  particularly when there’s an off road wheel on the end.
Don’t get me wrong though I know I am lucky to have food,  soo many others do not.

Using plastic packaging that cannot be recycled, litter picked up from around my home and village and found treasures. These are glued and fixed down with tissue and painted over in acrylic and ink.Its about not taking ordinary items for granted and of viewing them in a different way, in my case i look at litter as a palette of colours, patterns and texture. When i glue in the non recyclable plastic it makes me feel like i m trapping it into the work and preventing it going into landfill.Hopefully i will run out of my ‘litter palette’ in the future 😊Natural textures

After becoming sight impaired due to detached retinas in both eyes.I found collage, I love the feel of the different textures while working it made me feel both connected and grounded.
