The painting ‘Embodying Codes’ is the expression in colour and shape of the frequency and experience of visiting the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum in Malta which is the only underground prehistoric temple in the world and dates back to 4000BC. Its structure resonates at a frequency of 111 Hz, or what is called the ‘holy frequency.’
When inside the multi levelled temple when a sound/tone is made within this frequency from what is called the Oracle Chamber it resonates throughout the whole temple complex and creates a shifting of brain function as the brain switches off the prefrontal cortex, deactivating the language centre, and temporary switches from left to right-sided dominance which is responsible for intuition, creativity, and inducing a state of meditation. These ancient peoples knew how to build temple structures that activated the area of the brain which relates to mood, empathy, and social behaviour. Stimulating the connection and embodiment of codes from a higher consciousness.
According to archaeologists the Ħal-Saflieni peoples practiced rituals that are life affirming, earth and nature oriented, worshipping the Great Goddess, attuning to the natural rhythms and the divine cycles and rhythms of the Sun, Moon and Earth, and the change of the seasons.
In my own life and work I am passionate about these principals and the power of aligning with the natural Cycles and restoring the lost arts of union with natural world and the essence of life within us. My creative practice and my artwork are in devotion to the Mother, or the Great Goddess.
Lisa started painting in 2014 after she was intuitively guided to paint how she felt the connection to the ‘Divine Feminine’ within her as an unfolding dialogue. At this time in her life, she was going through a major life change as her conditional yes to life was breaking down. She felt compelled to pick up a paintbrush and paint. Her extensive background experience teaching meditation and spiritual practices led her to approach creating art as an intuitive, meditative and listening practice.
As a mystically inspired intuitive artist she weaves visionary ideas and storytelling into earth medicine through her very striking and colourful artwork. In her creative process she works with her rising ideas and values around her communion with the Sacredness of life. This permeates through her all her work creating a strong visual and deeply felt impact. Her passion for bringing alive an inner expansion of consciousness in bold colours with strong Soul filled messages invoke a heartfelt and soul deep response from the viewer. As a creative catalyst she brings creativity alive as a path of self-love. Arousing the power of creative connection as a path of enhanced well-being, healing and joy.
She works from her Studio and Gallery in the town centre of Whitchurch, Shropshire. She is currently working on an inspiring series of paintings for an Oracle Deck based around her online art membership programme which honours and supports the connection to the Divine Feminine through the natural rhythms and divine cycles called Art of the Sacred Wheel. Lisa has just completed a 12-month Art Mastery Program with the Milan Art Institute. She is an artist, wife, mother, grandmother, art teacher, creative catalyst and a facilitator of transformative sacred spaces.
