About

Field Edge

This painting is a coming together of drawings from observations I have made over the years of Wayside Plants. Saved in the field margins are a diverse mixture of wild flowers, grasses and the reminders of cereal crops.

Some I have made into impoverished stamps that I can use in different ways – I love the broken textures I can achieve with this method. I have used watercolour, inks and gouache to give me the finished painting, one of a series.

Behind the old wall

This painting is a reworking of a discarded canvas (saved from landfill!) – sometimes paintings take on a life of their own and take you on a journey of discovery, I felt it wanted to survive.

I used recycled tissue, homemade teasel stamps, inks and gouache. I love texture and use as much re-cycled materials as possible to achieve it
