Drypoint is a form of intaglio printing where lines are engraved into a surface using a sharp or pointed object. The soft lines created by drypoint lend themselves beautifully to playful illustrations or expressive sketches. Fine artist and printmaker, Jacqui Dodds, will teach you how to make a drypoint plate using laminated paper plates. The plate is then carefully inked-up and printed through a small etching press. You will also be introduced to chine collè, a collage technique where coloured tissue or delicate patterned papers are overlaid to introduce different areas of colour during the printing process.
