As a community organisation, do you fully understand your obligations under GDPR? You are invited to a GDPR workshop, so that you can understand your obligations and make sure that you do not inadvertently incur seriously large fines and penalties.
If you hold personal and sensitive data, perhaps in employing people, managing volunteers, taking bookings and payments, marketing activities, including using direct marketing via email and post, websites using cookies and sharing data in offering excursions and making third party bookings, then you need to comply with GDPR.
You will be provided with a data protection policy template and also a privacy policy template, which you will adapt for your organisation during the session – so feel free to bring your laptop. You will conduct and audit and produce your policies with support from the trainer on the day.
It is imperative that you understand your legal basis for processing data; what privacy notices and consent authorisation you need in place; the role of data protection officers; and review any data sharing arrangements.

Remember, to demonstrate compliance with GDPR, you must take certain measures and know when and how to report a breach. This course will cover all of the above.
