Award-winning artist, Vic Bearcroft is a professional wildlife and pet portrait artist who specialises in pastel on velour. As velour is such a unique surface, the pastels and techniques may be quite different from what you have experienced before. Vic will teach you how to paint realistic fur textures by using pastels in layering technique before adding finer details and highlights.

Vic has won numerous awards for this work, including the prestigious Endangered Species category in the 2012 BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition. Bought up in Kenya, he is passionate about wildlife and supports a large number of animal welfare and conservation organisations worldwide. He is the author of several books and DVD’s, including Drawing & Painting Wild Animals, Drawing & Painting Cats, and has his own range of pastels and velour paper created by the SAA arts organisation.

This course is suitable for complete beginners and advanced artists alike.
