I am fascinated by the coast of Wales, the mountains, rocks, water and light. Rocks have qualities of strength and endurance against the ever flowing tides; their colours and shadows change with the varying light. As I weave the rock seems to take on a life of its own, interacting with the sea, becoming almost animal like.
Reflections in water can be seen as another world. The rock gazes into the pool and admires itself!
I spin and dye the fleece from local sheep, combining colours during carding to give a unique texture and watercolour effect to the tapestry.
