11 Jul Volunteer Celebration Events
This July, Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership (SIP) Voluntary and Community Support Team will be holding a series of events to say thank you to volunteers from across the county.
The events aim to recognise and celebrate the significant value and contribution that volunteers bring to an organisation and their community.
The team are keen to use these events to hear from volunteers about their experiences of volunteering, what motivates them to dedicate their time and the impact they have on the lives of others. It will also be a chance for community groups to share their thanks and to highlight how important volunteers are to them.
The Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership (SIP) is a well-established partnership of Community Resource (previously known as Shropshire RCC), Qube, Energize, and Shropshire Youth Association. Collectively they have been delivering infrastructure support to the voluntary sector in Shropshire for more than 20 years.
The SIP Voluntary & Community Support Team offers free advice, guidance and support to local charitable groups and organisations. It can support groups in areas from Governance, compliance and policy development to financial management and volunteer recruitment.
SIP Voluntary and Community Support Team are hosting three volunteer thank you events around the county this year;
Qube, Oswestry 13th July
Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Ludlow, 22nd October
Cavalier Centre, Much Wenlock, 29th October
The first event at Qube will be attended by Selina Graham, High Sheriff and Deputy Mayor Oswestry Olly Rose. Both will be speaking at the event, as will Qube Chief Officer Laurel Roberts. Invitations have been sent out to community and voluntary groups in the county and to their volunteers.
The events will be a great opportunity for groups and volunteers to network with others and hear from a range of guest speakers about how their incredible contribution is having a positive impact on their local community.
