Training for the role takes approximately 6 months and requires a time commitment of a minimum of two days per week. During the first six weeks, one day in Shrewsbury and one day in Oswestry Bureau. Following the six weeks course, training will continue with at least one day per week in the bureau. Please note that recruitment is usually limited to two intakes per year; starting dates may vary, but generally these are in January and September. This role will include:
- Enabling the client to explain, explore and clarify the problem.
- Helping the client decide what the next best step is for them and their issue.
- Concluding the interview in a positive manner by making appropriate referrals, agreements and case records.
There are no formal qualifications required but the candidate needs to be computer literate with good listening and numeracy skills. They also need to be good at identifying problems and have the ability to explain information.
