Corner Patch is a social enterprise project that helps adults with learning disabilities develop the skills and confidence to work in their local community, it also provides companionship and support. The products sold are made at Corner Patch and also by its sister project, Maesbury Metals. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to assist with supporting people to make a variety of craft based (mainly sewing) items and in the general running of the shop from February 2018.

As a Corner Patch Volunteer you will:

- Encourage and support people to use their skills and become more independent.

- Work alongside the people supported to produce a number of items for sale in the shop. The ability to sew, knit, crochet etc. would be really handy but not essential.

- Offer practical support and guidance to ensure the smooth running of the shop.

- Assist in general day to day tasks.


- Friendly and approachable  able to build a rapport with the people supported and customers.

- Experience within retail is a plus but not essential

- Able to support and instruct individuals with practical tasks where necessary

- Reliability- the continuation of this service will rely on staff and volunteers for its smooth running

- Enthusiasm

- Patience and understanding
