CROP is a community based orchard, run entirely by volunteers. Started in 2011, it has more than 100 fruit trees and a newly planted woodland.

The Community Orchard welcomes all, including people who are new to growing/ managing plants. Everyone at the Orchard is a volunteer and we believe everyone has something to offer. We are all there to learn or share our knowledge with others.

There is work for everyone. The Orchard Project welcomes volunteers to help with the following:

Contribute to pruning, planting, weeding fruit trees. Clear vegetation and keep area free of rubbish/debris. Renew posts and rabbit proof netting when necessary. Tie cordons/espaliers and young trees. Keep accounts of wildlife in both flora and fauna. Help growing and maintaining small woodland, by cutting down weeds, checking young trees. Saw or chop small amounts of logs/kindling for sale. Pick fruit and help distribute to shops. Help with hedge clearance/ laying

We are open to anyone who is interested in wildlife and the environment. We meet every Friday morning.
