You will train to become an adviser, which will include the following responsibilities:
- Enabling the client to explain, explore and clarify a problem.
- Researching and explaining information and considering options.
- Assisting clients in taking action by providing support where required.
- Concluding the interview in a positive manner by making appropriate referrals, agreements and case records.
Training for the role takes approximately 12 months and requires a time commitment of a minimum of two days a week. During the first three months, one day requires attendance at a training course in Shrewsbury, and the other will be spent in the Oswestry office. Following the three month course, training will continue with at least one day per week in the Oswestry office.
There are no formal qualifications required for the role but the candidate needs to be computer literate with good listening and numeracy skills. They need to also be good at solving problems and have the ability to explain complex information.
