The Supervisory Committee is responsible for overseeing the running of the credit union and making sure that FAIRshare operates within the law, regulation, rules and policies of the credit union. The Supervisory Committee must be totally independent of any of the functions it is inspecting, and is responsible for ensuring that FAIRshare Credit Union is being run in the interests of its members, and that its financial procedures and management practices serve the best interest of its members.

Credit Union.


The required time commitment is approximately twelve hours per month, shared between the three

members as well as attendance at strategic planning meetings and training days which is 2 ? 4 days per year. It is envisaged that these sessions would take place over weekends.

FAIRShare covers the whole of Shropshire but meetings usually take place in Telford.


We are looking for some one with the following experience of financial management and an understanding of credit unions and how they operate as well as understanding of financial services, cooperatives, effective running of a business and knowledge of processes involved in undertaking an audit.

It is also important that supervisory committee members have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as good I.T. skills.
