Posted for Omega the National Association for End of Life CareBack to Search Results Register your Interest Omega is the home of the multi-award winning telephone befriending service, Chatterbox. Chatterbox consists of a team of people who support some of the most socially isolated people within our community, giving them the chance make new connections and take steps to re-build their lives. We need new befrienders to make these calls as sadly, Chatterbox has a waiting list. Our minimum requirement is just one half hour phone call per week, you would be welcome to do more if you wished. Befriending is a hugely rewarding role, you will be carefully matched with clients of similar interests giving you a good platform to begin from. Omega also runs a similar programme A Letter From Louise which is a Pen-Pal style befriending service. Omega holds regular bereavement support groups across the West Midlands, a new one was started in Shrewsbury last month and we are hoping to start one in Oswestry in the near future.
SkillsA good listening ear! Full training is always given and our Chatterbox team are on hand to help when needed.
