Telephone Listening Service

The service is to provide a regular friendly telephone call to our members who feel socially isolated, providing a listening ear and friendly conversation. Volunteers will be given guidance on how to deliver this service. The volunteer will record the call on a log sheet, this will also have space for any concerns or need for information the recipient may have.  

We are not an Advice Service but we are able to tell people about services that we know about and agree to find out if it is appropriate. A member of staff will be available if you need additional information.

Working within Boundaries

We must ensure that we provide a non-judgmental service and that we are not seen to be gossiping about other people or situations in the community, move the conversation on if the subject matter is difficult.

Initially we will be offering a maximum call time of 20 minutes (this will be regularly monitored for capacity). You may have more than one recipient if this fits.
