The object of the Charity is, in the interest of social welfare, to improve the conditions of life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation. The not for profit Community Bar opens between 2-5 evenings per week offering refreshments during scheduled community activities e.g bowls, skittles, bingo, food nights etc. The bar also supports the Hall which can be hired for private events. Volunteers support the Community Bar on a rota basis subject to their availability. An opportunity has arisen for a volunteer bar manager to co ordinate the activities of the volunteer bar staff, ensuring the bar is adequately covered when required, the team are fully trained and get the most out of their volunteering experience.
Previous experience in bar work is welcome but not essential. Most important in this role is a desire to support this community hub and motivate a small and enthusiastic team of volunteers. The successful individual will possess good communication and coaching skills.
