Do you have experience in making things? Are you skilled at woodwork, metalwork or just general DIY? Maesbury Metals provides day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in Oswestry and makes a variety of items for sale in the Corner Patch store or one off bespoke items for individual clients . We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals who could help the people supported by the service from February 2018.

As a Workshop Volunteer you will:

- Use your skills and experience to assist in the making of a wide variety of products.

- Offer practical support and guidance to the people supported including the teaching of new skills.

- Encourage and inspire the people supported in their endeavours

- Ensure everyone is working safely around machinery and the necessary steps are taken to avoid risk.


- Friendly and approachable and able to build a rapport with the people supported.

- Relevant professional or extracurricular experience in your chosen craft

- Able to support and instruct individuals or groups of people within the workshop.

- Reliability- the continuation of this service will rely on staff and volunteers for its smooth running

- Enthusiasm

- Patience and understanding
