Slow Stitching Workshop with Kate Youens

In this workshop you will learn the technique of slow stitching, using reclaimed and vintage fabric pieces, with all materials provided. Kate is working on an art project exploring the history of the women at Llanfyllin Workhouse, and will be creating textile “bundles” towards a group project which she will talk about during the session and you will have an opportunity to add pieces to the work.

The workshop will take place on Thursday 16th of April from 10am – 12pm. The aim of the workshop is to create a relaxing and meditative experience with a focus on materials we have around us.

Kate is happy to demonstrate her own process alongside sharing ideas and skills when required.

Materials and equipment are provided however, feel free to bring along pieces of fabric, threads and hand sewing equipment you would like to work with.
