26 Jun Art Workshops at Qube: July
As well as curating the fabulous new Arts Open Exhibition, Qube’s Arts & Creativity Officer, Gemma has been working hard to pull together a fabulous range of workshops to get your creative juices flowing. Here’s a taster of what’s to come…
Life Drawing
Tutored: Saturday 1st July 2023 10am – 12pm £15
Untutored: Saturday 8th July 2023 & Saturday 29th July 2023 £8
A Qube staple and one which gets fabulous feedback is life drawing so it had to be on the calendar for July.
Our untutored sessions allow you to have an undisturbed two hours to create a masterpiece of your life model in a medium that suits you, that could be paint, pastels, pencils, and more.
We’ve also had an amazing opportunity to offer a tutored session once a month so if you’re a bit of a newbie to life drawing and would like some assistance from an experienced tutor then this class is for you! Bring along your chosen art medium and join in the fun.
PaintAble
Mondays 11.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm-4.00pm
10 sessions for £80
Develop your creative skills with this fabulous session run by Joseph Schneider. This session is for beginners and anyone looking for some guidance to develop their artistic skills. Designed to be fun, friendly and informal, this session also aims to give you the confidence to explore new techniques and mediums so you can get to know what you love working with.
Matchbox Painting with Holly Hayward
Every Friday in July – 1:00pm – 4:00pm £20 per session
Join professional artist Holly Hayward for some miniature matchbox painting. The idea of this happy and relaxed session is to paint an image or scene onto a recycled matchbox (you can bring an image/design as a reference). Holly will demonstrate and guide you through the process, sharing her ideas on your piece where required.
Materials provided: Matchbox, Brushes (feel free to bring your own), Acrylics and an Apron.*
*If you are able to bring a hairdryer, this would be useful for the drying process as you’ll be building up several layers of paint.
Carers Crafty Drop-In Session
Saturday 29th July 2023
Free session (optional donation)
This workshop is exclusively for carers, and offers the opportunity to chat with like-minded people over a brew whilst doing something crafty to clear the mind – you can either bring something you’re already working on or take advantage of using some of Qube’s craft materials – there may be something new that you’ve never dabbled with before and take to it like a duck to water.
Booking is essential to ensure we have plenty of space for everyone, call 01691 656882 or email info@qube-oca.org.uk
