Art Workshops at Qube: June

Qube’s Arts & Creativity Officer, Gemma has been working on a fantastic roster of workshops for June and we can’t wait to share this snippet of what’s coming up with you. Whether you like a chilled-out art session or something a little more testing and hands-on there’s something for everyone

Life Drawing

Tutored: Saturday 3rd June 2023 10am – 12pm £8

Untutored: Saturday 10th June 2023 & Saturday 24th June 2023 £15

One of our most popular courses is life drawing so it had to be on the calendar for June.

Our untutored sessions allow you to have an undisturbed two hours to create a masterpiece of your life model in a medium that suits you, that could be paint, pastels, pencils, and more.

We’ve also had an amazing opportunity to offer a tutored session once a month so if you’re a bit of a newbie to life drawing and would like some assistance from an experienced tutor then this class is for you! Bring along your chosen art medium and join in the fun.

Wednesday 28th June 2023 7pm – 9pm £10

Why not take a step back in time with guest speaker and Art Historian, Sarah Gathercole who is currently running a special three-part series of Art History lectures that focus on Women in Art. These two classes mark the final of this wonderful Art History special and draw attention to Contemporary Women Artists.

Stained Glass Workshop with Brian Duffy

Thursday 28th June 2023 11.00am – 3pm £75

We’ve enlisted the help of glass artist Brian Duffy to run this fabulous hands-on session. This four-hour course goes through the entire process of building a stained-glass panel from creating your design, making cut lines, cutting the glass all the way through to leading up and finishing it. You’ll get to take away your very own beautiful stained-glass panel as a reminder of your day and get to display it in your home.

Follow the line, follow the mind

Friday 30th June 2023 10.00am – 1.00pm £30

Local artist, David Bannister is hosting this brand-new workshop! Coming with an open mind is key to this workshop to ensure your creativity can flow. This workshop explores ways of drawing that provoke the mind to imagine and conjure something up from nothing.

If any of these workshops tickle your fancy, booking is essential so we can accurately advise our tutors how many attendees there will be prior to the event. Head over to our ‘Workshops’ page to book your place.
