About the Project
The Building Better Opportunities programme isĀ funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund to tackle the root causes of poverty, promote social inclusion, and drive local jobs and growth. The programme is delivered in 38 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) areas according to the local priorities.
BBO Shropshire is made up of twenty partners organisations, all with specialist skills and experience, to help those facing barriers to employment move closer to and into work. The partnership provides basic skills training, confidence-building activities, specialist skills training as well as working with individuals on a one-to-one basis to jointly create an appropriate plan to help them progress through the programme into volunteering, training and / or employment.
Qube Volunteer Centre specialises in volunteer brokerage and has a wide and diverse range of volunteering opportunities available to enable more disadvantaged people to acquire basic skills, increase their confidence and motivation by taking part in a local volunteering opportunity. Our Volunteering Officer provides personalised support that takes into consideration the individuals needs to help them move toward and into employment. The project is funded from February 2017 until the end of December 2022.
