Shropshire Supports Refugees was established in 2016 to bring relief and support to vulnerable families displaced by unrest in their home countries relocating to Shropshire.
Aa an ESOL volunteer you will provide support to the charity’s clients who require help with their English language learning. Volunteers will be flexible and start on an ad-hoc basis but will eventually build their client numbers to develop a weekly timetable. You will liaise with other ESOL volunteers, as well as staff to provide learners with the best possible assistance for their queries and needs in learning English.
This role has no set location, and it will be a mixture of assisting in local classes or providing 1 on 1 support to our clients in their home location- this will be discussed during the informal discussion.
We provide a comprehensive induction, on-going training and support to all our volunteers however there are some skills we require you to have that are specific to this
role:
• A friendly and approachable personality
• Enthusiastic and passionate about working with refugees, migrants and
asylum seekers
• Willingness to work as part of a team
