Opportunity

Are you looking for a Volunteering opportunity?

Would you like to make a positive difference to the lives of our older residents living in our Retirement Living communities?

We currently have an opportunity for a volunteer Gardener at Yew Tree Court, Shifnal. This retirement living scheme has a large communal garden with well-established trees, borders and shrubs overlooked by the communal lounge and would benefit from an enthusiastic volunteer to add a personal touch and provide some much-needed TLC.

As a Volunteer Gardener your duties may include:

• basic garden maintenance, including, planting, sewing, weeding, mulching, edging, raking, digging over, deadheading and bed preparation.

• path sweeping and removing leaves in the autumn months, watering plants and shrubs in the hot summer months.

• working alone but may be joined by residents in the garden, so we are looking for someone who can offer light conversation and companionship.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved in, please apply!

Care Plus commitment to you:

• Induction programme to ensure you have the skills and confidence to fulfil your role.

• All volunteers will require a DBS check which will be paid for by us.

• Out of pocket expenses reimbursed, including travel costs

• Additional training opportunities offered

• All volunteers will be supported by the Engagement and Volunteer Team and their skills and contribution to the group will be reviewed on a regular basis.

We know that people volunteer for many different reasons. Whatever your reason for volunteering and whatever time you are able to commit, we would love to hear from you. There is no upper age limit to volunteering with us, however you will need to be over the age of 18.

Join our Volunteering Team and help us to put the PLUS in Care Plus
