01 Nov Qube receives £15k from Shropshire Council community transport grant
Shropshire Community Transport Consortium has been awarded £100,000 by Shropshire Council, which in turn comes from a £1.8 million Government grant from the Department for Transport to the council.
As a not-for-profit service, the Consortium includes groups that operate across Shropshire. Each group within the Consortium has an aim to provide community transport support for residents who are otherwise unable to access or use public transport, including older and vulnerable people, and those who are terminally ill or have disabilities.
At Qube, we are delighted to be in receipt of £15k to support our Dial-a-Ride service. Dial-a-Ride is a door-to-door transport service for people without access to public transport or a car. The service is essential for members of the community who can’t get out and about and it can make a huge difference to their lives.
Qube are able to operate Oswestry Dial-a-Ride thanks to our fabulous and friendly team of volunteer drivers and passenger assistants, who work with our two full-time members of staff. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver or passenger assistant, please contact us on 01691 656 882 or email info@qube-oca.org.uk for more information.
