Market Drayton Community Amateur Sports Club is a non-profit hub for fitness and wellbeing, offering facilities like a gym, squash courts, boxing room, and pitches for cricket and football. It supports local sports clubs and runs classes for all ages. The club also provides volunteering and work experience opportunities, helping people gain skills and confidence while contributing to the community. 

Help us improve and refurbish our club facilities! As a volunteer, you’ll assist with building and maintenance projects, working alongside our Club Project Manager who oversees all refurbishment works. 

• Assisting with general building repairs and improvements 
  
• Helping with painting and decorating projects 
• Supporting basic carpentry or joinery tasks 
• Removing old fixtures and fittings 
• Preparing areas for refurbishment (cleaning, clearing, sanding) 
• Carrying and moving materials safely 
• Working alongside the Club Project Manager and other volunteers to complete refurbishment plans 

What skills do I need?

Essential Skills and Qualities:

• Good level of stamina and physical fitness 
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely 
• Team player with a positive attitude 
• Reliability and willingness to learn 

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in building, maintenance, or DIY 
• Qualifications in labouring, construction, or related trades 
• Practical skills such as painting, basic carpentry, or general repairs 
• Problem-solving and attention to detail 

Training and support: 

We’ll provide a full induction, health and safety briefing, and guidance on all tasks. You’ll work alongside other volunteers and club members, so there’s plenty of support and opportunities to learn new skills.
