As one of 38 members of the ACRE network (Action with Communities in Rural England), we’re part of a national movement championing rural life and innovation.

Tasks and responsibilities may include any of the following:

As a trustee of Community Resource, you’ll play a key role in guiding the charity’s direction and ensuring we stay true to our mission.

You’ll provide strategic leadership and oversight, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to help us achieve our goals and deliver lasting impact.

Trustees take part in board meetings and may also contribute to subcommittees or working groups focused on areas such as finance, risk, events, and safeguarding.

You may also represent Community Resource externally, helping to build relationships with partners, supporters, and stakeholders and attend inspiring events that celebrate and support rural communities across Shropshire.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understand the importance of the groups Health & Safety procedures.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality & safeguarding vulnerable children/and or adults.
  • Be aware of the standards set by Community Resource and the need to work to these standards at all times.

What skills do I need?

Skills:

                 knowledge of, and an existing network in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

                 familiarity with, and supportive of the aims and values of Community Resource 

                 board experience with an inclusive and consensual approach

                 experience as an ambassador, negotiator and public speaker

                 working as part of a team

                 a strategic approach

                 a high level of emotional intelligence, tact and diplomacy

                 commitment to the Nolan principles

 

Training:

  • Every volunteer will receive our mandatory training

  • Every volunteer will have access & be signposted to training which the group feels is appropriate for the role.
  • Every volunteer will be trained in all the tasks they are required to carry out to ensure they have the skills and confidence to fulfil their role.
  • No volunteer will be expected to carry out their duties unsupervised until they are confident and skilled in these duties.
  • All volunteers will be supported and their skills and contribution to the group will be reviewed on a regular basis.

·        Volunteers are covered by Community Resource public liability and personal accident insurance while working with us
