Shrewsbury Repair Café hosts an event each month where members of the public bring broken or non-working household items in to be repaired by a team of volunteers repairers. 

The admin roles with Shrewsbury Repair Café may not necessarily need to be present at the monthly repair café but each volunteer is encouraged to attend so that they can be part of the team.

There are various behind the scenes roles that a volunteer can fulfil

·       Design & Marketing.   The Shrewsbury Repair Café has a profile that is maintained in the community through its ongoing promotion of its existence, values and purpose.   It has a website that requires updating and various social media profiles so a skill in IT or creative design would be advantageous.

·       Admin.   Shrewsbury Repair Café is a UK registered charity and therefore there is a certain amount of administration to maintain it’s operation, from monitoring and answering emails, typing up reports, communicating with volunteers or outside groups, to delivering talks to outside groups and societies.

·       Finance.    Shrewsbury Repair Café is a UK registered charity that maintains its own accounts which are scrutinised annually.    A volunteer with accounting background or expertise could assist the Treasurer and Assistant Treasure in maintain the accounts.

Volunteers are expected to be courteous to all those attending/involved in the Shrewsbury Repair Café and abide by all policies and procedures of the Shrewsbury Repair Café.
