Remap Shropshire is one of 70+ local groups spread across the UK, we cover all of Shropshire, T & W and areas of Mid Wales. Volunteers work from their home base in conjunction with clients and their Occupational Therapist/Medical Professional where appropriate. We are looking for a volunteer Chair who will help keep the great work going!
Tasks and responsibilities may include any of the
following;
Review draft minutes and helping with administration
Helping with the recruitment of volunteers
Helping to look for fundraising opportunities
Attending events and giving talks to outside
organisations – other charities etc
Liaising with other panel officers – complaints, workload,
finances
Membership administration – ID badges, contact list.
Additional Responsibilities:
Understand
the importance of the groups Health & Safety procedures
Understand
the importance of confidentiality & safeguarding vulnerable adults
Be
aware of the standards set by REMAP and the need to work to these standards at
all times.
What skills do I need?
No specific skills required, however we are looking for an individual who can;
Work as part of a team
Should be reliable and be available on the dates and times agreed
Able to have the panel laptop/computer and be able to use Word or similar
software and REMAP specific software.
Training:
Every
volunteer will have access & be signposted to training which the group
feels is appropriate for the role
Every
volunteer will be trained in all the tasks they are required to carry out to
ensure they have the skills and confidence to fulfil their role
No
volunteer will be expected to carry out their duties unsupervised until they
are confident and skilled in these duties
All
volunteers will be supported by the other panel officers and the group in
general and their skills and
contribution to the group will be reviewed on a regular basis
Monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Lantern, Shrewsbury or via Zoom. The meeting starts at 14:30pm and is up to 2 hours long.
Administration however is as required, generally 5 hours per week to suit when the volunteer is available.
