Do you love working with children and helping them develop new skills?

As a Class Support Volunteer, you will assist the class leaders in managing and supporting our new children's theatre classes.

Your role will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can explore their creativity, build confidence, and learn the basics of theatre performance. This is an ideal role for anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to contribute to their creative development in a supportive, educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

● Assist class leaders during children's theatre classes, ensuring all children are engaged, safe, and enjoying the class.

● Provide one-on-one support to children as needed, offering encouragement and helping them build their skills.

● Help manage the classroom and assist with activities or games that teach key theatre skills in a fun and interactive way.

● Ensure the class space is safe, tidy, and organised before, during, and after the class.

● Work with the class leader to ensure that children feel included, encouraged, and supported during their learning. 

What skills do I need?

Communication skills – Able to explain instructions clearly and in a way that is engaging for children.

Patience – A calm, patient approach to working with children and supporting their needs.

Organisation – Ability to keep track of materials, maintain a tidy learning environment, and assist with the flow of the class.

Teamwork – Work well with the class leader and other volunteers to create a smooth-running, enjoyable class.

Interest in theatre – A passion for theatre and a desire to help children explore and develop their artistic talents.

Availability Details

Classes have yet to start but will either be a Saturday morning or early evening dependant upon class leader and volunteers availability. Support would be up to 4 hours per week.
