Tasks and responsibilities may include any of the following:

• Stationed in the exhibit

• Start of duty involves walking around to observe computer games available

• Support to a staff member on duty always

• Interact with visitors to advise on game status

• Help to set up game screens

• Confident enough to demonstrate a game

• Just assist people to have a good time

Additional Responsibilities:

• Understand the importance of the groups Health & Safety procedures.

• Understand the importance of confidentiality & safeguarding vulnerable children/and or adults.

• Be aware of the standards set by Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and the need to always work to these standards.


What skills do I need?

Skills:

• A certain degree of physical fitness is needed.

• The Game Support Volunteer works as part of the Front of House team.

• The Game Support Volunteer should be reliable and arrive to help on the dates and times agreed.

Training:

• Every volunteer will receive our mandatory training which includes site induction.

• Every volunteer will have access & be signposted to training which the group feels is appropriate for the role.

• Every volunteer will be trained in all the tasks they are required to carry out to ensure they have the skills and confidence to fulfil their role.

• No volunteer will be expected to carry out their duties unsupervised until they are confident and skilled in these duties.

• All volunteers will be supported by Front of House colleagues and their skills and contribution to the group will be reviewed on a regular basis.
