We are seeking some dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support during our performance rehearsals, activities and foster an inclusive learning environment. This volunteer role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with people with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students reach their full potential through personalised support and mentoring.
Duties:
- Assist team in delivering rehearsals.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to service users requiring additional support.
- Mentor students by offering guidance, encouragement, and emotional support to promote their social development.
What skills do I need?
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of special education principles and techniques for supporting students with disabilities.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities on the autism spectrum.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with service users, carers and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude essential for fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Awareness of safeguarding.
- Previous experience in tutoring or mentoring is advantageous but not essential. This role provides an enriching environment for those eager to make a positive impact on young learners/lives while developing valuable skills in education and special needs support.
- Some background in performing arts would be useful.
